Question 2

Where do you work?

Accepted Answer

We are based in Daisy Hill and work across Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast, Ipswich and Redland Bay.

Question 3

How do I get a quote?

Accepted Answer

Call 0406 482 001 or send an enquiry through the form on this site. Tell us what you want tiled and where, and send photos if you have them.

Question 4

Do you do waterproofing as well as tiling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Waterproofing is one of our core services, so the membrane and the tiles are planned together for showers, bathrooms, laundries and balconies.

Question 5

Why does a shower need waterproofing under the tiles?

Accepted Answer

Tiles and grout are not waterproof. The membrane underneath is what stops water reaching the structure, so it matters even when the tiles look perfect.

Question 6

What standard does wet-area waterproofing follow in Australia?

Accepted Answer

Waterproofing of wet areas in residential buildings is covered by the Australian Standard AS 3740. We apply waterproofing as part of the tiling job and can talk you through what it involves.

Question 7

How long does waterproofing take to cure before tiling?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the product, the number of coats and the weather. We follow the manufacturer's cure times before any tile goes over the membrane.

Question 8

Can you waterproof a balcony before tiling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Balconies are exposed to weather, so the membrane, the falls and the tile choice all need to be planned together.

Question 9

My shower is leaking. Can you fix it?

Accepted Answer

We look at where the water is coming from first. Leaks often start at corners, drains or cracked grout. Depending on the cause, the fix can be as simple as regrouting or as involved as stripping the shower and rewaterproofing it.

Question 10

Can you retile just my shower?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. We check the condition of the waterproofing and the walls first, and tell you what the job really needs.

Question 11

Do you build shower niches and bench seats?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We set out niches and benches with the wall tiles so joint lines line up, and we waterproof them like the rest of the shower.

Question 12

Do you install linear drains?

Accepted Answer

We tile showers with linear drains and standard floor wastes. The floor falls are set to suit the drain.

Question 13

Can you tile a bathroom from floor to ceiling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Full-height wall tiling is common in showers and bathrooms. We set out the tiles so cuts land in the best places.

Question 14

Can you tile over my existing floor tiles?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes, but it depends on the condition of the old tiles, the height of the floor and the waterproofing underneath. We check on site and tell you straight.

Question 15

Do you lay large-format porcelain tiles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Large-format tiles need a flat base and careful setting, and we use levelling clips so tiles sit flat to each other.

Question 16

What are levelling clips?

Accepted Answer

They are small plastic clips and wedges that hold neighbouring tiles at the same height while the adhesive sets. They help avoid uneven edges on large-format tiles.

Question 17

Can you tile the whole house floor?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We tile kitchens, living areas, hallways and more. Floors are checked for level and movement first.

Question 18

Can you do a herringbone splashback?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Herringbone needs careful setting-out so the pattern lands evenly, so we plan it before any tile is fixed.

Question 19

Do you tile kitchen floors and laundries?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Laundry floors are wet areas and are waterproofed before tiling.

Question 20

Do you install natural stone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We install stone and stone-look tiles, including crazy-paving wall cladding and feature walls.

Question 21

Does natural stone need sealing?

Accepted Answer

Many natural stones do. It depends on the stone and where it is used, and we can talk through what yours needs.

Question 22

Can you clad an exterior wall in stone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We check the wall is sound first, then fix the stone with an adhesive suited to outdoor use.

Question 23

Do you tile around pools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We tile pool surrounds and coping. Tile choice matters, because pool areas need slip resistance and tiles that cope with sun and wet feet.

Question 24

Can you tile outdoor steps?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Steps need careful setting-out so every tread is even, and the tile should suit outdoor use.

Question 25

Can you tile a patio or alfresco area?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We lay falls so water drains away from the house, and choose adhesive and grout for outdoor conditions.

Question 26

Do you supply the tiles?

Accepted Answer

Tell us what you are planning when you get in touch and we can talk through supply and the amount needed for your job.

Question 27

How many extra tiles should I order?

Accepted Answer

Ordering extra is standard to allow for cuts and breakages. How much depends on the tile size and the layout, and we can advise once we know your plan.

Question 28

What tiles suit wet areas?

Accepted Answer

Floor tiles in wet areas should have the right slip resistance. We can talk through suitable options for your bathroom, laundry or balcony.

Question 29

How long will my job take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of the job, the waterproofing cure time and the tile. We will give you an idea of timing when we talk through your project.

Question 30

Do I need to be home while you work?

Accepted Answer

We will agree access with you before we start. For apartments we also follow building access rules.

Question 31

Do you work in apartments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We tile apartment bathrooms and balconies on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane. We plan access and protection of common areas first.

Question 32

Can you work around my renovation schedule?

Accepted Answer

Tell us your timeline when you enquire and we will talk through what is possible.

Question 33

How do I clean and look after tiles and grout?

Accepted Answer

Use a neutral cleaner suited to your tile and avoid harsh acids on grout and stone. Wipe wet areas regularly and keep shower floors and drains clear.

Question 34

What is your ABN?

Accepted Answer

Our ABN is 81 881 249 733.
